CSRD to Listen

CSRD to Listen

The CSRD wants to hear about our experience of the fire.
What can the CSRD learn about their operations, from our shared trauma? What can be made better? Please plan to attend one of the sessions on March 7, 9, 10, 11, 13 or 14.

Things we can talk about are:
– pre-fire communication
– how did we all get alerts – alertable app? other ways?
– timing of alerts
– how the evacuation went
– once evacuated how was the process with ESS and other government agencies
– how was communication from the CSRD through the 3 weeks of fire and evacuation
– what can they learn from those who stayed behind to fight
– how has communication been handled since the fire

I’m hoping they take our message and make some changes to the way things are handled in the future.

There are 4 in person sessions beginning March 7th at Sorrento Memorial Hall and then March 9 at Celista Elementary, 10th at Anglemont Centre, and 11 at Quaaout Lodge. Then it will conclude with two virtual sessions on March 13 and 14th. See below for more details.
They are asking that you register but that is not mandatory, except probably for the virtual sessions.
Let’s get a good community turnout for these important events.
