Have Your Say on a North Shuswap Community Multi-Use Building
The North Shuswap Chamber of Commerce and the BC Rural Centre have launched a survey to help explore the potential for a North Shuswap Community Multi-Use Building.
The concept could include space for food processing and a commercial food hub, museum or cultural uses, meeting rooms, skills training, community events, and small-business activities.
There are three surveys available:
- One for all North Shuswap community members
- One for organizations and potential tenants/users of the building
- One for those interested in a Commercial Food Hub
Whether you might use the facility yourself or simply have thoughts about what our community needs, your input is important.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey(s) that apply to you — and help us reach as many North Shuswap residents and organizations as possible by sharing it.

I would like to see it used as a community hall, that people can rent throughout the year or have weekly uses there, I would like it to be available to the public to use all year roubd

What are you talking about? We already have a new community hall on the firehall! That cost over $3 million!!!
we already said that the fire station was a must and turned down the cost of additional buildings. calling it another name/reason to again ask for this is annoying. we already have a community hall used for many different agendas, it’s in celista. janet
Hi Janet, I’ve been talking about this building for a couple of years. It has nothing to do with the firehall. It’s for current and future community services, like a food bank, which has tried the Celista Hall and for a variety of reasons that is not suitable.
And we don’t need it. We didn’t need the community centre on the firehall. That added another approx $3 million to the cost. The old centre was very seldom used. The Celista and Anglemont halls can be betterr utilized! We certainly don’t need another.
Now that you foisted this on us, let’s at least utilize it. Sell the old property and recover some of the wasted tax dollars!!
If you mean restaurants or food places by food hub my opinion yes we could use that. Small businesses would be welcome too. We need more fun things to do in Scotch Creek. More people are here living full time.
